This is the Friends of History Debating Society. I'm John Bachelor with Professor

H.J. Mackinder International Relations, Six Capital, Six Points of View,

two wars, a third war threaten. We go to Moscow. The headline on Moscow is that Vladimir Putin, having spent a year and a half behind

20 foot tables, reading such as the President of France, and behind 50 or 60 feet of the vast halls in the Kremlin greeting ambassadors from

all over the country, traveled to the Middle East, walked and talked with MBS, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia,

walked and talked with the Sheikh of the UAE, reviewed troops at the UAE within 10 feet of walking down the line and was pictured

smiling, greeting, shaking hands, exchanging thoughts with the Arab leaders.

Professor, all of a sudden, Vladimir Putin is Mr. Charm, and we're told the reason is that

the price of a barrel of oil for Europe has gone below $80 and is looking at perhaps $75 soon enough.

It is no longer driving season.

And Russia needs that to be closer to 90 where it was in late

September. However the smiles on Mr Putin's face suggested he's feeling easy.

He certainly wasn't worried about being arrested, the detail it, the

neither Saudi Arabia nor the UAE or signatories of the ICC. So Moscow's point of view as we come to Christmas time.
