Ukrainian officials said that Russia launched drone strikes on Kiev, the capital,

mere hours after one of the biggest Ukrainian attacks on Russia in months.

Twenty people were killed in Belgrade, near the border with Ukraine, according to Russian authorities.

Earlier Russian missiles killed at least 21 people in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city, and the day before, at least 39 people died in what Ukraine's defense minister described as the biggest Russian air attack since the start of the war.

Benjamin Nettenyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, said his country's war in Gaza will continue, quote,

for many more months.

He vowed to take control of the border

between the enclave in Egypt.

He also warned that Hezbollah and its backer Iran will, quote,

receive blows if it expands its assault on Northern Israel.

Meanwhile Israeli forces continued their bombardment of Gaza,

especially targeting Khan Yunus, a southern city.

Presidential candidates in Taiwan clashed in a debate ahead of the election in January.

The island's relationship with Beijing dominated the discussion.
