You probably work a lot of hours, and you have lots of other things going on besides your work, which might make it tough to fit in the things that we all promise to ourselves that we are going to be vehemently committed to all your long. |
| 1:14.0 | So today, what I want to focus on is five things that you can do literally while you work, as you work, that are not going to disrupt your schedule. They're not going to take away from your focus, and they're not going to require any sacrifice at all. |
| 1:27.0 | However, these things will have a dramatic impact on your energy level, your health and wellness, and your overall results, not just in your business, but in your life. So let's get started. |
| 1:39.0 | Number one, I want you to transition to a standing desk. I will tell you right now that I've record my podcast episode standing up. I've told you this many times, and most of the day I work at a standing desk. |
| 1:51.0 | And I did that because literally it is so unhealthy. Sitting is the new smoking. You probably have seen the hashtag, and it's absolutely true. |
| 2:00.0 | It is incredibly unhealthy to be sitting at a desk all day, and it also has a negative impact on our energy level, our focus and our sharpness. |
| 2:09.0 | What I find is that when I stand, I move my arms, I move my legs, I'm moving the entire time. I'm keeping myself energized, and it allows me to better maintain a sharper, more energetic focus throughout the day. |
| 2:24.0 | And it also prevents me getting back problems and having my stomach bend out in weird ways that go against what I'm trying to do from a health and wellness standpoint. |
| 2:34.0 | So if you have not yet made the investment to get yourself a standing desk or at least get an attachment that can sit on top of your desk and be raised up, there's all sorts of desks available at every different price point. |
| 2:47.0 | You can imagine this does not have to be a heavy investment for you, but go on Amazon buy one new buy one used on eBay. I don't care, but get yourself something so that you're no longer sitting for eight hours a day doing your work. |
| 3:01.0 | You will see your energy come up instantaneously. It will make a difference in your quality of life. |
| 3:07.0 | Number two, walk and talk. So no doubt about it throughout your day. You are doing phone calls with people, whether it's clients, customers, your team, associates, colleagues, whatever. |
| 3:21.0 | You are doing phone calls throughout the day. When you walk, when you talk, when you talk, make sure you walk. |
| 3:27.0 | It's a rule that I put in place for myself many years ago. If it's spring and summer, I walk outside with a headset. If it's winter and it's the tundra like it is right now, I piece back and forth in my office. |
| 3:39.0 | So walk and talk, make it a rule. If you're on the phone, you're moving. That's number two. |
| 3:45.0 | Number three, I want you to get a big, huge water bottle. I want it to be something other than plastic, whether it's metal or glass. |
