Good evening. It's Friday, June 13th. Welcome to a new episode of System Update, our live nightly show that airs every Monday

0:21.4

through Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern exclusively here on Rumble, the free speech alternative to YouTube.

0:27.0

Today's most important news is obvious. Israel last night launched a major military assault on Iran,

0:33.8

targeting residential buildings in Tehran, where military commanders and nuclear physicists live with their families, as well as bombing multiple nuclear facilities throughout the country.

0:43.3

Triumphalous rhetoric flooded American-Israeli discourse almost immediately until just a little bit ago when a barrage of Iran's ballistic and hypersonic missiles began hitting Tel Aviv, Jerusalem,

0:56.0

and other major population centers. Escalation seems virtually inevitable at this point. The question

1:02.1

of the level of escalation, always the most dangerous question when a new war has started, is most

1:07.2

certainly yet to be determined. Then there's a question of the role of the United States and President Trump and all of this.

1:35.0

not only greenlighting the attack, but actively working with the Israelis to launch it.

1:40.2

President Trump's own statements today proudly boasting of the success of the attack, along

1:45.2

with his own concrete actions such as ordering U.S. military assets into position to yet again

1:50.6

defend Israel, strongly bolster those reports and clearly indicate a direct U.S. involvement

1:56.5

in this war between Israel and Iran, a U.S. involvement that already exists and will almost

2:01.7

certainly continue to grow over the next few days and perhaps few weeks and even months.

2:06.8

We'll examine all the latest developments as well as speak to the American Iranian professor

2:10.9

Mohamed Morandi, who is in Tehran, obviously heard and witnessed, a lot of what happened in Tehran,

2:16.7

but also has some unique analysis from his role as an American, Iranian scholar of foreign policy.

2:24.3

We will then speak with two scholars from the Cato Institute, one of the very few things in the United States was as long counseled restraint and non-interventionism.

2:32.3

In U.S. foreign policy, Justin Logan and John Hoffman are both scholars with Cato.

2:38.0

They have followed the Iran-Israel-US dynamic for quite some time, and they'll speak to us about
