We've had some breaking news in the past 30 minutes. Boris Johnson's ethics advisor has resigned.

You might wonder why it has taken him so long. It's not a title anyone would covet, I can't imagine.

Now, we don't have much information about this at this point. He's just released a statement saying,

I'm resigning, but we're assuming there is going to be some more details sort of coming through

as the show goes on. We have a lot to talk about in the meantime, most notably the fallout

from the government's failure to send a first flight to Rwanda. I'm joined for a change on Wednesday

anything we're discussing on the show might not be of the utmost interest. It's very exciting,

if the ethics guy has resigned. In the last week, the government has relentlessly pursued its

first Rwanda deportation flight for refugees. However, as I imagine, you're already aware that flight

never left. That was because every asylum seeker due to be on the flight was granted an individual

reprieve and then most dramatically because of an intervention from the European Court of Human

Rights. The Tories are furious with some calling for Britain to leave the jurisdiction of that

court. Times journalist Patrick McGuire reported, scale of unrest on Tory WhatsApp from serving

members of the government payroll. We'll seriously worry number 10 in the home office tonight.

His cabinet office, PPS, Brendan Clark Smith from Bassett Law writing to the 70 strong common

sense group. This is effectively a war now, so the common sense group have declared a new war.

MP Jonathan Gullis also had a pretty dramatic statement. I know many of you across

Stoke on Trent, North Kids Grief and Talk will be frustrated that the first flight of illegal

economic migrants, wow, illegal economic, that's that's incredible. Rwanda has not been able to

happen. This policy was always going to face mass action from lefty lawyers and activists.
