Summary

Tyrrell Hatton has notched his first career PGA Tour after a superb Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. After causing a stir on twitter with his ‘self-flagellation’, we go into why the Englishmen should remembered for more than his hot-headed antics (2:00). The Sungjae show continued at Bay Hill, is this success sustainable or is Im’s performance a flash in the pan (12:00)? Marc Leishman is quietly having a great season on the PGA Tour, we dive into why you shouldn’t sleep on this Presidents Cup standout (24:18). Rory McIlroy might be the only person in the world who has ‘Sunday Scaries’ that still ended up with him on the first page of the leaderboard. Maybe we’re being hyper-critical of a guy with seven straight top five finishes on the PGA Tour (31:00)? One player who we are pressing the panic button on is Brooks Koepka, after shooting a career-worst 81 on Saturday we jump into why he should not be a favorite to win the Masters this year (40:15). Bryson DeChambeau proved to be a ‘One and Done’ hero after playing the weekend under par at Bay Hill (46:25). Finally we wrap with the obligatory Tiger Woods talk. Big Cat announced on Friday that he would not be competing in the PLAYERS this week at TPC Sawgrass. What impact does this lingering back injury have on Tiger’s chance to truly compete this year (51:35). ————————— 'First Cut' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts.  Follow our hosts on Twitter: @KylePorterCBS, @mark_immelman, @RickRunGood, @therealGFD For more golf coverage from CBS Sports, visit https://www.cbssports.com/golf/ To hear more from the CBS Sports Podcast Network, visit https://www.cbssports.com/podcasts/ To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Yeah, but, you know, Bay Hill is such a great golf course. And just the setup, I think, was spectacular. If you look at the leaderboard, it kind of brought out a lot of the people that had been playing well. And to me, with conditions firm and fast, and you heard a number of the players say they would prefer it that way.

It just highlighted skill. Yes, there were situations where you did balls that land on the green that you couldn't keep on putting surfaces downwind, but you know what? I think in the end, a good champion,
