So the Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyree Kill says he decided not to sign a contract

with the Jets because of the state taxes they would be too high.

He was traded to the Dolphins from Kansas City in March, but he was also being courted

by the Jets at the same time.

And this past Monday during a presser, he explained why he ended up with the Dolphins

and not the Jets and he said it was mostly a financial decision.

This blows my mind that more athletes do not consider this or if they do consider it,

they're not vocal about it.

Because let's face it, nothing in society moves the needle or a few things in society,

move the needle like pro sports.

And if the public were more aware, hey, one of the better players chose not to go to our

state or our team because our state taxes or city taxes are so egregious that you would

see might actually see an angry mob stormed the state, stormed the state capital demanding

change because again, government screws you will no big deal government messes with

our sports team.

Well, we can't have that.

So I did the math on how much money over the life of the contract Tyree Kill will save

by going to the Dolphins because Florida has no state income tax versus New York that

has a 10.75 personal income tax on people making over 5 million.

So what I did is the so the way the trade worked and this happens a lot in the NFL where

they will teams will often allow players who are unhappy to seek trade proposals like

hey, agent player, you may seek teams that will be willing to trade with us.
