Summary

Manijeh 'Mani' Starren was reported missing in mid April. By the end of June, her boyfriend Joseph Jorgenson had been arrested for the arrest, and her dismembered remains had been found in a storage unit belonging to Jorgenson's roommate. Later, Fanta Xayavong, another woman connected to Jorgenson who had been missing since 2021, was also found dead in a different storage unit. 0:14.6	So this week we have something that's relatively uncommon, the possibility of a serial
0:19.5	killing love murderer.
0:21.4	The sad story begins on April 18th.
0:23.8	That was the day that the family of 34-year-old Minnesota woman, Manajé Starrin, who went
0:29.0	by Mani, reported her missing.
0:31.3	Fast forward to June 26th, on that chaotic day, police attempted to serve search warrants
0:36.4	for the apartment of Joseph Stephen Jorgensen, Mani's boyfriend.
0:40.2	And did not go well.
0:41.8	First, Jorgensen barricaded himself in his bedroom, and if that was where it ended, that
0:46.8	would be still enough to put a serious crimp in these police officers' day.
0:50.9	But no.
0:51.9	Jorgensen proceeded to start a fire and an attempt to distract the police.
0:56.4	With the flames blazing, he charged through the door.
0:59.6	Jorgensen tried to rip one SWAT team member's AR-15 automatic rifle from him, all the while
1:05.0	screaming that he would shoot the other officers.
1:08.0	Ultimately, the SWAT team was able to wrestle Jorgensen down and detain him.
1:12.5	And the reward for his trouble was extra charges of arson and trying to disarm a peace officer
1:17.0	to his tally.
1:18.3	But why was he so desperate to evade capture?
