Imagine the pensioner whose children cannot afford

houses of their own, watching her limited savings earmarked for those children, disappear

on social care and so feeling a, quote, duty to die. Just think on that for a moment.

I have struggled, I think, to articulate to you why this story

makes me feel different from how most other stories that we discuss together do. It's a danger

of my job, I think. I've mentioned to you before. You've got to guard against seeing everything

as a potential topic. Sometimes you have to pause and reflect upon the

ramifications of a story far beyond the four walls of this studio or your ears, you know, far beyond

the time that we spend together. So, I mean, to put it bluntly, my gut reaction sometimes

will be crikey. That would make a good phone in. And that can cover a multitude,
