Hello, everyone, and welcome to this week in Fantasy Baseball. I'm John Cud, and I'm joined, as always, by Patrick Fitzgerald. In this episode, we're going to go over, well, just the trade deadline, because that just finished up right before we started recording. So we'll talk about that. We'll cover some of the injury news. There's still a little bit of that going on right now. And then, of course, we will have some streamer recommendations at the end of the show. But before we get into it, just a reminder, you can follow our podcast on Twitter. This WeekPL, you can send us your fantasy baseball questions to our email at this weekPL pod at gmail.com. Lastly, make sure you subscribe to or follow the podcast and what we're a streaming platform you listen to. We're on all of them, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube. Wherever you're listening, make sure you follow us and leave a five-star view if you enjoy the show. So that all be said, Patrick, how are you doing? How is your trade deadline day going? I feel like I got a little bit of whiplash, you know, trying to follow all the deals that I'm going on, but I'm on vacation right now, uh, down the Outer Banks,

North Carolina,

as you can probably tell by my slight sunburn and the sign behind me also. Um, but yeah, so I, I, I, I, I'm off. So I had a lot of time to follow the deals. I have my, my, my Jeff Passing notifications on it, and they were blowing up.

1:07.6

So a lot of moving parts.

1:10.3

Yeah.

1:11.5

I felt like I just got hit by a truck.

1:15.3

Uh, up. So a lot of moving parts. Yeah. I felt like I just got hit by a truck. I was I was traveling

1:33.3

for work today. So I wasn't chronically online like I usually am. So the past couple days, I've been

1:40.2

getting a lot of Jeff Passing notifications, but today, obviously, driving, so I was not

1:44.8

getting those notifications. And every time I made a stop, I just had to check and see what was the

1:49.5

craziest new deal that just happened. So, yeah, really, really insane day. Not just for the

1:56.1

twins, but I think just for, you know, Major League Baseball in general. Some, the big names that were traded, I think, were the ones that were expected.

2:03.7

There was obviously a couple that were just kind of out of the blue that no one expected.

2:06.8

We'll obviously talk about that in a little bit.

2:08.4

But, yeah, overall, pretty nuts day, but not really too many consequential moves, I'd say.

2:15.7

Yeah, I think with, especially in the starting pitching market, a limited amount of options available, I think that teams clearly took an approach of, okay, we can't get those big top end difference makers, so we're going to make a ton of little moves that will hopefully make that difference that we're looking for. So a lot of platoon bats, a lot of relievers, ton of closers. So there's definitely some fantasy fallout there.

2:36.1

So teams, you know, trying to round out of their rosters because a lot of the big pieces weren't necessarily available.

2:41.1

Yeah, two surprising, actually maybe three surprising names that I think maybe that we didn't see get traded.

2:47.6

Sandy Alcantara, Dylan Sees, and Luis Robert Jr. all stayed in their current homes.

2:55.2

Of course, with Sandy, he's been having a pretty down year this season. So it's not surprising

3:01.8

that teams probably weren't willing to take the price that the Marlins were asking for. For
