Yesterday, Attorney General Merrick Garlin announced that the Justice Department is exploring

all options to challenge Texas' new abortion law, and promised to provide support to abortion

clinics that are under attack in the state.

Specifically, they said that they would act to enforce a federal law called the Face Act,

which prohibits physically obstructing or threatening to intimidate or interfere with

a person seeking reproductive health services.

It also prohibits damaging property at abortion clinics and other reproductive health centers.

And while this is some progress, I really think that we're going to need a little bit

more energy from the Biden administration, like, say, putting pressure on Joe Manchin

and Kiersten Sinema together to the filibuster.

You may remember that since the pandemic began, the federal government increased weekly unemployment

benefits in order to help bolster the economy.

Well, yesterday, those benefits expired, even as more than 7 million people are still
