really looking forward today to finishing Psalm 6. One of the things I love about the Psalms is just how they get right to the point.

I mean, you start out in verse number one in some of these Psalms, and it's like,

Lord, what are you doing in my life? Why is this going on? And I think that's the way oftentimes

we start our prayers with God. We don't go through some

flowery introduction. I mean, when we're alone with God, it gets raw and it gets real really quickly.

And I see that in the Psalms. Why? Because these are real prayers that real people prayed to a real God. And the fact that God has preserved

them for us so that we can see that gives us hope. Think about one of the main purposes

of the writing of the Old Testament, according to the Apostle Paul,

was that we would derive courage and encouragement and be able to persevere better because we're hearing the story of these other people just like us.
