Thanks for listening. Now, let's join Kurt for today's episode. Okay, let's dive right in today because

we have a lot to accomplish. And these are some really rich verses of teaching in Jesus ministry.

We're talking about the Pharisees and the scribes.

Jesus is actually talking about them. So he's speaking to the multitude. He's speaking to the disciples.

And he's really warning them about the kind of teaching that they're used to, the kind of

teaching that is hypocritical.

And yet Jesus begins the conversation by saying, hey, listen, they do have authority.

They do sit in Moses' seat.

And you are going to hear aspects of the Word of God from them.

And you are responsible, even though the Word of God from them, and you are responsible.

Even though the Word of God sometimes comes from fallible sources like human beings,

the Word of God itself is infallible, and insofar that the Word of God is being taught,

you have an obligation to follow it.

Now, having said that, sometimes human teachers go beyond the

word of God with their applications, and they lay them on people like their burdens.
