episode. First Kings chapter 20 today, we've learned that just because we've had a victory

yesterday doesn't mean that tomorrow's battle is not coming.

In this chapter, Ahab has been given this great, excuse me, victory by the Lord, but the prophet

has come to say, Ahab just know that Ben Haddad and the army, they're going to regroup and they're going to come after you again.

So use this season of victory to prepare for the next battle.

Look what it says now in verse, well, look at verse 22, because that's the point I just made.

So the prophet comes to the king of Israel.

He said, go strengthen thyself and mark and see what thou

doest. For at the return of the year, the king of Syria will come up against thee. Now, let's

split screen this because that's what the prophet is saying to Ahab. But now let's go to the other side,

the defeated side, Ben Haddad's side of the battle, and watch what happens there. Verse 23.

And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him. Okay. So you're having a little bit of a debrief on both sides. The prophet of God

is speaking to Ahab on that side and the counselors of Benhdad are speaking to him on his side. And

here's what they said. Their gods, speaking about Israel, their gods are gods of the hills. Therefore, they were stronger than we.

But let us fight against them in the plain or in the flat valley. And surely, we shall be stronger than they.

Very interesting. So the reason that the counselors of Ben-Had

give him, the reasons they give him for why they lost the battle, was that the deities,
