Amazon plans to lay off 9,000 more workers over the next few weeks. These job

cuts are on top of the 18,000 they already made back in January. During the pandemic, Amazon's

workforce doubled, but there was a hiring surge in all of tech. CEO Andy Jassy emailed staff yesterday with the update and said the

second phase of Amazon's annual planning process was completed this month, which led to the job

cuts. The layoffs will hit teams like its cloud computing division, its ad business, Twitch,

and some other departments. This comes after Amazon has paused

construction on its HQ building in Virginia, but the first phase of that project will actually

open in June with 8,000 employees. Did COVID-19 come from a lab in Wuhan? It looks like we are

close to finding out yesterday.

President Biden signed a bipartisan bill that requires the Office of the Director of National

Intelligence to declassify information related to the lab in Wuhan that has been linked

to the spread of COVID.

The bill calls for the information to be released in the next 90 days, but it does allow the

government agency to redact some sensitive information. So who knows exactly what the final

product will look like? Major American intelligence agencies still don't agree on where the

virus came from, whether it was contracted from animals or released from a lab. And some experts
