Nicky, thank you so much for joining us today to talk about your new book, The Waiting

Game, which is all about the ladies in waiting to Henry VIII's six wives.

I wonder if we could start with a straightforward question,

but for more of a grounding one, is what does a lady in waiting actually do?

Well, that is also a how long as a piece of string kind of question. A lady in waiting during this period is really just there to do whatever the Queen needs had to do and to accompany the Queen whatever she's doing, wherever she's going,

almost seven days a week, 52 weeks in the year.
