life in this episode. But first, we need that important piece of context. Who was the average

ordinary Tudor? That's a big question. The average ordinary Tudor would probably be a rural

dweller. They might own a little bit of land or they might just work the land. This was a predominantly rural age.

Most people lived in the countryside rather than in towns. And most people worked the land in some way
