I think that what makes Tucker interesting is he was really willing to either take positions

or go places that a lot of people wouldn't go.

So, for example, he was one of the only public news personalities that was against the Ukraine

war that is asking for peace in the Ukraine war.

Okay, but why? All right, everyone.

Welcome back to the Loopcast, Catholic Votes weekly rundown of all things, faith, culture, and politics.

And this week, we had some big news

sent through the media landscape. Tucker Carlson has been let go from Fox News. They parted ways.

It was a nasty breakup. It's been everywhere in the tabloids. There's a lot of speculation as to what

happened. But here at the loopcast, we have the facts as to how much he was worth, what he meant to

Fox News,

and maybe what this means for media and news going forward here. Josh, do you have any

idea how much he was worth that Fox News? Yeah, he got paid between $15 to $20 million,

and that's because, you know, those hosts that can fill those primetime hours where you get

the most number of viewers, that's a very competitive

space there. And if you can inform and entertain people a lot, you get paid big dollars.

But here's the thing is, it was an abrupt end. I'm not so sure it was, you know, acrimonious,

at least it hasn't been salacious. I mean, we haven't seen Fox run down Tucker.

Tucker hasn't said horrible things about Fox, at least so far. I mean, some of that stuff

might play out, but my guess is that Rupert Murdoch, the head of Fox News, I think he just

didn't like Tucker Carlson's coverage of the January 6 riots.

That's the early indication of what was going on.
