Hey there, from CNN. I'm David Rind with the five things you need to know for Friday, March 20th.

Carlos Monroe, his wife, and their dog, showed up to Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson Airport this morning at 250 a.m.

Let me say that again.

2.50 a.m.

They told CNN's Ryan Young their flight was at 6 a.m., but they've been hearing about the super long lines caused by the partial shutdown of the Department

of Homeland Security, so they figured giving themselves more than three hours of buffer

time would be enough.

It's just not fair.

They were wrong.

They missed their flight.

I feel bad for the people that are not being paid.

I feel bad for the people that are standing being paid. I feel bad for the people that are standing in line.

I feel bad for everyone except people in Washington, D.C.

But beyond the travel woes, are there security concerns at play here?

Former TSA Administrator John Pistol told CNN that as the shutdown drags on,

bad actors could try to take advantage of a security

workforce that's being stretched thin.

The officers are probably distracted because, okay, you're missing, second full paycheck,

and a half when it started back February 14.

So that whole notion of, am I focused on my job to spot that, that punitive terrorists who might be trying to do something to exploit what they say is of vulnerability?
