We're also bringing in Dan Duggan of the athletic to tell us all we need to know about the New York football giants because they're here in Foxborough for joint practices. We want to know, as we mentioned in the last pod, last week in Philly, the Patriots do nothing but sign, acquire, trade for joint practice opponents.

So which giant is going to be that guy, if not this offseason, then maybe next offseason or the offseason after that?

Duggan gives us a bunch of great names.

Another phenomenal guest, we got to talk with him right out on the practice fields after practice on Wednesday. Fenomenal conversation there. But I want to start today's podcast

just with a brief note on Mac Jones because we've talked so much about Mac Jones leading all the way

up to this year's draft, going back to the senior ball and even before that when we're talking

about people that we need to keep an eye on when it comes to the college ball and even before that when we're talking about people that we need to keep an

eye on when it comes to the college football playoff. He has been maybe the most frequently

mentioned name in Next Pat's history. And I think it's worth mentioning his name here again today

because as we sit here on Wednesday afternoon,

it's the third straight day where Mack Jones has been the top dog at quarterback for the New England Patriots. He's essentially crammed in six practices worth of work in three days here

with no Cam Newton on the field. And to me, Wednesday against the Giants, their first practice

with Joe Judge's football team,

it was his best practice as a member of the New England Patriots.

When you factor in the situation, joint practice against what should be a good defense,

which we'll talk about with Duggan in moments here,

but against a good defense in an intense practice setting,
