story number one. The Conquest of Venezuela. That is the story that's dominated the break. That is the story that's dominated the new year. That's the story to start 2026. The United States in a military operation, incredibly impressive, incredibly efficient,

captures Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro. He today appears in New York City to stand trial,

to face charges of drug trafficking, among other charges,

in the same spirit as Panama's Manuel Noriega some 40 years ago.

Today, it is Maduro.

Today, it is Venezuela, and Today, it is Venezuela. And today, the question is, is it America first?

There will be hand-wringing. There will be international outrage. There will be hypocrisy from the left.

But the only real conversation that matters for serious-minded adults is what just happened in Venezuela? Does it

serve America first? The president of the United States has been asked that question over the last

two days in his answer is a definitive yes. Security, the Western Hemisphere, a modern-day

Monroe doctrine, and oil. All of that serves the interest first of Americans.

For me, it's quite honestly a simple cost-benefit analysis.

What did it cost in terms of American life, plunder, and treasure?

What is the benefit to Americans?

There was a time when we believed in conquest.

There was a time when everyone believed in the concept of conquest,

not just as the law of the jungle,

but as something to be revered for God, for king, for glory.
