I've got a couple stories today that I want to talk about. So the first one is one of the bigger

economic news headlines of the day, and that is how Trump is calling on Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook to resign.

So apparently he's considering attempting to fire her after one of his housing officials accused her of mortgage fraud, which I should say it follows a playbook we've seen before.

The administration has accused other political opponents of this kind of fraud.

So, but, you know, basically the White House is turning up the heat on the Federal Reserve.

It is the latest escalation.

And Trump, as we've talked about, has been complaining that the Fed chair, Jay Powell and other Fed

officials haven't lowered interest rates at any of their meetings so far this year.

So, you know, he's been going after Powell, trying to get him to step down. The Supreme Court has already pushed back on his attempts to exert this kind of

control over the central bank. And, you know, generally speaking, governors can only be removed for

cause, which is like a standard that applies to violations of law or really serious misconduct.
