Well, if we're going to be fair, we're going to have to say that Donald Trump's speech to the nation on every television channel in the world was not his finest moment.

Sure, there were some good information.

There were a lot of things in there that you knew, a lot of things positive about what's going on with the economy.

And it was in its words and optimistic speech, what was not happening was the president was not delivering it in an optimistic way.

It was forced. He seemed nervous. This was not where he is most comfortable. He's more comfortable in front of an audience.

He's more comfortable riffing. It seemed like he was in a hurry. Some of the networks allotted 22 minutes of time total,

and it felt like the speech might be too long, and he was trying to rush through it.

I'm just going through the analytics of what I saw and what I felt, and I can't believe,

in kind of a positive, I cannot believe that he was able to call in all of his favors with every

network and get them to allow him

to do an address to the nation that was absolutely not an address to the nation. It was a political

speech. This was a campaign speech. It was a very shortened campaign speech. It was the beginning,

if you will, of the midterms, and he is the president,

but if you're going to call in favors and you're going to get a presidential address to the nation,

that typically is reserved for something that is vitally important or happening now.

And there was none of that in this speech. The only new thing that I learned was he's giving

$1,776 to about a million and a half military service men and women. And I think that's

great. That's fine. But he's typically over the last 11 months just done that from his desk in

the Oval Office, signed an executive order and said, here we go. We're sending $1,776 to everyone in the service. So I didn't think it was his best

moment. I was expecting something much heavier, more important to the country than don't listen
