So, President Trump has confirmed that President Zelensky will be travelling to the United States on Friday to sign an agreement on the

joint extraction of Ukraine's minerals. It's potentially a rare moment of harmony between the two

countries after Ukraine's exclusion from negotiations between the United States and Russia

to end the conflict and President Trump calling Mr. Zelensky a dictator.

But it's becoming clear that the Minerals Agreement is far from a done deal.

Ukraine is now describing the agreement as preliminary, and Mr. Zelensky says it doesn't contain

the post-conflict security guarantees that Ukraine was looking for.

This is just a start. This is a framework agreement. What is important is that this deal can be very

successful or it can simply disappear. The big success, I think, depends on our conversation with

President Trump, and I very much count on America and its president.

And Ukraine's Prime Minister, Dennis Shimahal, has gone a step further,

saying there won't be an agreement unless Ukraine gets those security guarantees.

Well, I'm not going to make security guarantees beyond very much. We're going to have Europe do

that because it's in, you know, we're talking about Europe as their next door neighbor.
