President Donald Trump is stepping up efforts to send troops into Democratic cities.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

It was a weekend of heated confrontations between protesters and federal agents and between

the Trump administration and Democratic governors.

On Saturday, U.S. District Judge Karen J. Emmergut blocked the administration from sending

Oregon's National Guard to Portland.

So the administration sent members of California's National Guard instead, over the objections of

Democratic governors in both states. In response, last night, Emmergut temporarily blocked the

administration from sending any state's National Guard troops under federal control to Oregon.

Trump doubled down yesterday.

He described the city of Portland as war-torn, a characterization which its residents and leaders strongly disagree with.

Portland is burning to the ground.

It's a insurrectionists all over the place.

It's Antifa.

And yet the politicians who are petrified.

Look, the politicians are afraid for their lives.

That's the only reason that they say like there's nothing happening.

And you've seen it.

The place is burning down and they pretend like there's nothing happening.

Portland was not the only city in Trump's sites this weekend.
