Good evening from New York. I'm Chris Hayes. Today the US military

beginning long expected military campaign in Syria and Iraq against

Iranian proxy forces and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, sometimes

known as the Kud's force.

Those strikes were in retaliation for that drone attack over the weekend which left

three American Army reservists dead

and dozens weren't injured in their base in Jordan. Those strikes that killed

Americans were themselves part of a series of exchanges between various Milton groups backed by Iran and U.S.

forces that have followed the October 7th of the mass attack in Israel and Israel's

subsequent counter-offensive in Gaza. Right now what you are seeing is footage of one of today's strikes on your screen

per an Iraqi security official that that you're seeing get hit there is a weapons warehouse

in Western Iraq that belongs to an Iraqi Shiite militia known as

Katib Hezbollah. According to U.S. Central Command, quote, U.S. military forces struck more than

85 targets which numerous

aircraft which include with numerous aircraft to include long-range bombers flown

from the United States. The airstrikes employed more than 125 precision munitions, the facilities that were struck included command and

control operations centers, intelligence centers, rockets and missiles, and

unmanned vehicle storages and

logistics and munitions supply chain facilities of militia groups

and their Iranian Revolutionary Guard sponsors

who facilitated attacks against U and coalition forces.
