0:22.5	President Trump earlier this morning firing off on truth social that, quote,
0:26.2	great progress has been made to end military operations in Iran with, quote, a new and more reasonable regime.
0:34.7	Sounds pretty optimistic, but the president ended his post by declaring that if a deal is
0:39.1	not reached and the Strait of Hormuz is not immediately opened, quote, we will conclude our
0:44.9	lovely stay in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their electric-generating
0:50.6	plants, oil wells, and Karg Island, and possibly all desalinization plants,
0:56.8	which we have purposefully not yet touched.
1:00.3	This will be in retribution.
1:01.5	He continues for our many soldiers and others that Iran is butchered and killed over the old regime's 47-year reign of terror, unquote.
1:10.6	So it really seems like things could go either way in Iran.
1:15.8	The president's optimistic and sunny tone has now become par for the course right in the
1:21.4	mornings before the markets open. So you have to take it with a grain of salt, especially
1:26.8	given the way he ended that post.
1:29.9	There were two stories over the weekend about what escalation might look like.
1:34.7	The Washington Post reporting that the Pentagon is preparing for weeks of ground operations,
1:40.5	but the operation, it writes, would fall short of a full-scale invasion.
