So it happened.

The table had been set for weeks, and I long predicted he'd go over the holiday break.

After Congress had broken for the holidays, when most of the media was on vacation, when most of America was still shaking off their egg-knog hangovers and watching college football and stranger things, and he did it. He sent in Delta Force and American troops to capture Maduro and his wife, who were now on board the USS Ewo Jima and soon on route to here in New York

City for trial. Trump just finished his press conference a couple minutes ago, which was long

and meandering and not full of too many surprises, but a few. He made it about the oil. He says,

we're taking over the country. He offered no clear plan for what's next.

And it's deja vu all over again, but without the full-scale invasion of Iraq.

Now, you can make an argument that this is how we should have done Iraq if we wanted to take out Saddam.

We wouldn't have to lose 4,492 people.

We wouldn't have wounded over 30,000 troops,

and we wouldn't have killed over 200,000 Iraqi civilians.

But this is not Iraq.
