On Tuesday, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, announced the start of a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump,

saying that he had betrayed his oath of office, the nation's security, and the integrity of U.S. elections.

She said, the actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the Constitution,

and that Trump must be held accountable,

no one she said is above the law. Pelosi acted after learning that the executive branch

was withholding from Congress an urgent whistleblower's complaint, said to allege that Trump

had pressured Ukraine's new president, Vladimir Zelensky, to investigate

Joe Biden, a chief rival in the 2020 election, and Biden's son Hunter, for purportedly corrupt
