Hey, from CNN, I'm Josh and Shana, with the five things you need to know for Monday, August 11th.

Last night, several Palestinian journalists were killed by Israeli strikes.

That's according to the UN in a post on X, describing the killings as a, quote, grave breach

of international law. One of the journalists was prominent war reporter Anas al-Shrif.

Of course, Anas al-Sherif has become a household name for many in the Arabic-speaking world,

for many closely following updates on the ground, on the situation in Gaza on social media.

Anas-L-S-L-Sherif over the last 22 months has been a constant source of information

on the ground across the Gaza ship. At the time of his death, he was, of course, in Gaza City.

He was outside of the previously destroyed Al-Shifa Hospital with other journalists, according

to the hospital's director, Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiia, in a tent clearly marked as a press tent.

In a statement, the Foreign Press Association said it was, quote, outraged by the, quote,

targeted killing of Palestinian journalists.

Meanwhile, as Israel's plan to expand the war in Gaza receives fierce internal and international criticism.
