Summary

This week, the Trump Organization and its Chief Financial Officer were charged with fraud and tax related crimes by the Manhattan District Attorney as a result of a years-long investigation. 0:17.2	This week, the Manhattan District Attorney announced charges against the Trump
0:21.2	Organization and this chief financial officer, Alan Weiselberg, on fraud and tax crimes.
0:26.4	This is a development in a story that's been going on for a while. For the past three years,
0:32.7	D.A. Cyrus Vance has been investigating former President Donald Trump's real estate business.
0:37.6	The same business that made Trump a household name, a television star, and ultimately,
0:42.7	the President of this country. These are the first criminal charges to arise from that probe.
0:48.0	Donald Trump himself does not currently face any charges, but the investigation continues.
0:53.7	And we should point out here that Vance was also working with New York AG,
0:57.3	Latisha James. She had launched a separate civil investigation of Trump.
1:02.7	So I actually talked to journalist Andrea Bernstein about all of this stuff last November.
