President Donald Trump told reporters the US.S. doesn't plan to follow suit after UK

Prime Minister Kyr Stama pledged to recognize Palestine as a state in September, unless

Israel agrees to a ceasefire and meets certain conditions.

Trump said he has, quote, no view on Stama's decision, but added he sees it as, quote,

rewarding Hamas.

The expression, a reward for Hamas, echoes a statement from Israel earlier on the UK's decision,

who have already rejected the UK's conditions.

Trump did say that both he and First Lady Melania Trump have been deeply affected by the images

of famine and starvation coming out of Gaza.
