Donald Trump doubled down on his displeasure with Jerome Powell, suggesting the chair of the Federal Reserve would leave the post, quote, if I ask him to. Last year, Mr. Powell denied

he would step down before his term finished. Earlier, Mr. Trump said Mr. Powell's termination

cannot come fast enough and urged the central bank, which is politically independent, to lower

interest rates faster.

A Minerals deal between America and Ukraine will be signed next week, Mr. Trump said.

The deal, initially approved in February, fell apart after a disastrous meeting at the White House

between Mr. Trump and Volodymy Zelensky, Ukraine's president.

Officials from both countries later resumed negotiations.

On Wednesday, Julius Sferredenko, Ukraine's first deputy prime minister, said that substantial

progress had been made.

Meanwhile, Mr. Zelensky accused China of supplying Russia with

weapons and said it was producing some of these on Russian territory. Ukraine's president said

he planned to share details next week. Despite a cozy relationship with Russia, China's leaders have

consistently claimed neutrality

and have been careful to avoid direct military involvement.
