National unemployment was 7.9% in this month’s Rasmussen Reports Real Unemployment update, down slightly from 8.2% last month and significantly more than the 4.2% rate officially reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics today.

According to newly released Census Bureau data, all income groups in America advanced more during President Donald Trump’s first term than they did during the Biden administration.
Stephen Moore, a senior visiting fellow in economics at The Heritage Foundation, presented the unpublished data for the first time in an Oval Office presentation with Trump on Thursday. The data divided Americans into three groups: lower income (bottom 25% of earners), middle income (middle 50%), and upper income (top 25%).
“What I find fascinating about this, Mr. President, is every income group did better,†said Moore, displaying a chart showing the percentage gain that accrued on average in each income bracket.
Under President Joe Biden, the lower class, after adjusting for inflation, lost income over the course of four years. The middle-income earners stayed about the same. But the upper income earners did noticeably better, according to Moore.
“The rich were the only group that did better under Biden, which is ironic because Biden keeps saying he was trying to get rid of income inequality. He made income inequality worse, not better,†Moore said. “It was President Trump that reduced income inequality.â€
The economist tallied the numbers in dollars, as well, showing that the lower income gained about $4,000 in annual revenue over Trump’s first term. The middle income gained about $6,400 in annual earnings, and the wealthiest earned $10,000 more a year from the start of Trump’s first term to its end.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday asked a federal court to unseal grand jury exhibits from the investigations into sex traffickers Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
In a submission to U.S. District Judge Richard Berman and fellow U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer, the DOJ said it wants grand jury exhibits in the two cases unsealed with redactions to keep the identities of their victims private.
Earlier this week, the DOJ asked the judges to unseal grand jury transcripts in order to compare those documents with the public record.
“As there are parties whose names appear in the grand jury exhibits but did not appear in the grand jury transcripts, the Government is undertaking to notify such parties to the extent their names appear in grand jury exhibits that were not publicly admitted at the Maxwell trial (and they were not already notified in connection with the request to unseal the grand jury transcripts),â€Â the Justice Department’s attorneys wrote.

The Supreme Court didn’t rule on that question at all. “The U.S. Supreme Court has not definitively ruled that undocumented immigrants must be counted in the census for congressional apportionment.
In 2020, the Court dismissed a challenge to President Trump’s memorandum seeking to exclude undocumented immigrants from the apportionment base, but it did so on procedural grounds, stating the case was premature and speculative because the policy details were not yet finalized. The Court did not rule on the constitutional merits of whether noncitizens must be included in the apportionment count.†It was a ruling by a lower court that forced Trump to count illegals. Which begs the question: Why didn’t Trump appeal that ruling to the Supreme Court?
Answer: Trump allowed illegals to be counted so that he could gather “evidence†of how many illegals are being counted in every state.
