| 0:00.0 | Hello, everyone. Sarah Longwell here, publisher of the bulwark. I'm joined by our wonder Andrew |
| 0:06.2 | Egger, sporting his commander's gear and not his bulwark gear. |
| 0:13.3 | Whoa, look at that, the big reveal. I'm always in bulwark gear now. Always. The sweatshirts are so |
| 0:19.7 | cozy. The hats are a little too small for me. I need a haircut before I can effectively wear my |
| 0:24.8 | bulwark hat without looking like a little bit of an idiot these days. But I'm going to get there. |
| 0:28.2 | Your hair is long. Your hair is long. Speaking of taking a haircut, Donald Trump's |
| 0:33.6 | polling is low these days. Trump's been at a low watermark for months. The last time, |
| 0:40.2 | the New York Times had him at 44% was in September. Gallup has him at flat at 36%, two months |
| 0:47.7 | in a row. Nade Silver has him at 42% without a number above 43% since October. And this is in an environment where he's |
| 0:55.5 | obviously getting crushed. I want to talk about Trump's lousy poll numbers because we're in a |
| 1:00.4 | flood of bad news. And whenever Trump has lousy poll numbers, I always feel like that's a bit |
| 1:05.4 | of a bright spot, at least for me emotionally. I like that. So I want to talk first because obviously I think what people are |
| 1:12.5 | most interested in is how are people reacting to the Venezuela action? And the Washington Post did do a |
| 1:18.6 | poll right after Trump took action in Venezuela. And 37% said it was appropriate for Trump to act alone |
| 1:24.8 | versus 63% who said that he should have gotten congressional |
| 1:29.0 | approval. It's nice that a majority of Americans still believe in congressional approval. |
| 1:33.5 | It'd be great if the administration did. 24% approval for the U.S. taking control of Venezuela |
| 1:38.7 | and choosing its new government versus 45% disapproving, which means that there's a lot of people |
| 1:43.6 | who don't know still. |
| 1:44.9 | And only 6% saying the U.S. should decide the future leadership of Venezuela versus 94% who say it |
| 1:52.3 | should be the Venezuelan people. It's pretty good. What do you make of that? |
| 1:56.9 | Yeah. So there's a couple important things, I think, to pull out from the Venezuela polling in particular. |
