Eastern District of New York, which includes Brooklyn, Queen Staten Island, and the Long Island

counties, Nassau and Suffolk. On the defense side, he is chair of the Legal Aid Society, Board of

Trustees. On the judicial side, he's been a judge on the criminal court bench in New York and a

magistrate judge in federal court. And for good measure, he was New York City's Corporation

Council for five years. That means he was the top lawyer representing the city of New York.
