We've been on a bit of a mini roll with our song of the week here at KKHI, the last several weeks after a little hiatus because we'd been so busy with football and stories and things that were going on.

They just didn't seem obvious and they didn't fit. But I've never really done what I'm about to do now. And that is, I'm imploring you to make sure you hear the story around the song of the week this week. Near the end of the podcast, this will be the longest song of the week ever. It's about a five or six minutes setup because the artist died this month.

It's an artist I'd never heard of.

And now I have 11 of his songs downloaded because I like him so much.

He's a storyteller, a modern-ish alt-country storyteller.

And there's a song that I'll play for you that's kind of a free speech anthem. I just, I don't know how to describe the guy. I didn't know about him. The story of how I found out who he was and that he just died and then I liked his music. I didn't know him. A week ago, I didn't even know this artist. I didn't know him. You have to stick around for the song of the week. I think you're really going to like it. We'll start today with some news of the week. The Fox poll came out, and it was really bad news for Donald Trump.

Fox did a poll and asked a bunch of questions about the economy and Trump. And what they're finding is he's losing support.

And I believe this. I believe this is actually happening. They're losing support from voters in his own base. A lot of these are men. A lot of these are men that didn't go to college.

And a lot of folks are saying, this economy is not working for us. This is about what Trump's been

talking about for a few weeks now. It's about affordability. It's about price. There have been all kinds of things going, like, I spent so much of my life not really

paying attention to price. And I don't know how much I pay attention to it now, but I see it and I

feel it. When I go to QT or something, get a nice tea, and it's $1.59, it seems like it was a very short time ago. They used to have $0.89 big queues in the middle of the summer for the summer promotion, $0.59. And now they're $1.59. Look, that's not the end of the world. That's not going to make or break most people. I don't know how much of this is real and how much of it's price gouging. Fast food's gone

through the roof. It's insane what it costs to go eat somewhere. I mentioned earlier this week

about going to Jason's deli. Having soup and salad combo in a drink was $18. It's just dumb. Just going out

is dumb. I don't necessarily feel it or see it so much in the grocery prices, but this is real

for most

Americans. It is hard to say what's going on. It almost feels like collusion in some ways. I don't

think inflation is crazy. The numbers that we're seeing are okay, like it's lower inflation than

under Biden, certainly. But I think we're seeing dramatic drops in

some things, but even more dramatic raises in others. Like gas is down, but it hasn't really
