Hello and welcome to Behind the Horror. Scary movie fans such as myself will hear

that a movie is based on a true story. A few of them we know, but most, well we never go on to find

out just what that true story is. So in this limited series we will explore and find out exactly what the true

story is behind the movies we love. Special thanks to some of my patrons as always.

The 2015 movie Room starts us off with a quick flash of things like a door, a red bucket, blurry

images of things we can't quite make out. And then we see a young woman shushing a young boy lovingly telling him to go to sleep as she turns out a light.

Then we hear the child's voice tell us, quote,

Once upon a time, before I came, you cried and cried and watched TV all day until you were a zombie.

But then I zoomed down from heaven through skylight into

the room and I was kicking you from the inside. And then I shot out onto the rug with my eyes

wide open and you cut the cord and said hello Jack."
