Hi and welcome once again to History Dwebs. I'm Tim and welcome to the podcast where we take a

lighthearted look at the dark side of history. And today we're doing something a little bit

unusual for us. We've got a multi-part series. This is episode one of Helter Skelter.

We take a look at Charles Manson and the Manson family as well as the Tate La Bilanka Murders.

So we usually only do, you know, usually we don't do multipolitics series, and usually we don't take on these more famous events for a couple reasons.

Mostly, the people, just other podcasts generally cover these things a lot.

So we always try to do some of the stories that are

less well known. And harder to fact check. True. But you're not here yet. So I have to edit you

out. The other reason is that I just don't like doing a multi-part series.

But this is an interesting story and there's a local connection.

So we're going to give it a shot.

This is a four-part series.

It won't necessarily be totally chronological.

This episode is going to focus on young Charlie Manson.

Episode number two, part two will focus on the members of the Manson family, or at least

the main players.

They were at one point, anywhere between 20 and 30 members of the Charlie

Manson family. We're certainly not going to cover everyone, but we're going to cover, you know,

the main players. Part three, we'll get into the murders themselves, and then part four,

the investigation, the trial, and the aftermath. So we hope that you'll join us for all four episodes.

We've only done a multi-part episode one other time.
