| 0:00.0 | Thanks for joining another edition of Trail Runner Nation gear review. Today we are looking at the Treksta Minnes sink trail runner. Now I gotta say when I took this shoe out of the box I went what the heck. Alright? That's what I said. I said what the heck. I didn't say that. What did you say? We're lucky we have two of these shoes, Scott. |
| 0:29.8 | One... box I went what the hack. All right. That's what I said. I said what the hack. |
| 0:25.4 | I didn't say that. What did you say? I said, we're lucky we have two of these shoes. Scott, one for me and one for you. We actually both have a pair of these and I'll tell you, Don actually took them out of the box the morning and we went for a run. I did not that morning. I didn't even know what color it was because it was still dark in the morning. It was so dark and your headlamp wasn't working real well. |
| 0:46.0 | Anyway, this shoe, the big difference at least in my mind of this shoe is they call a thing, they call it nest fit. And if you took this shoe out of the box and looked at it and put it up next to any other shoe that you have in your running garage, it's a very different shape. Normally their shoes aren't shaped like a foot. This one looks like a foot. It looks like it looks like a V-Brum five fingers without the five fingers. And it's just a really neat shoe. Very light. That's one of the things that I like about it very light. And it just feels out of the box, put it on, and it feels so good. |
| 1:27.1 | The weight is 10.9 ounces, Scott, for size 9, shoe, just to give you a little spec on it. And I believe it is kind of, it is more of a, it's not a minimal a shoe, but it's a flatter shoe as long as it has a 4mm drop. And that's in my sweet spot. That's it. I also am close, have a good relationship with a 4mm. |
| 1:47.8 | One thing that out of the box I questioned was the tread. If you remember what the tread looks like here, let me hold my foot up. I'm actually wearing them right now. Look. That's a good stretch for you, Scott. So the tread, I was going, that doesn't look like a trail runner. Not big lugs. Not big lugs on that, too. |
| 2:05.2 | Not big lugs, but I'll tell you what, |
| 2:06.7 | I've run in this in some wet weather, and it has grip power. They call it hyper grip soul. They do. Well, there you go then. It does, I wasn't gonna say I had hyper grip like abilities, but it was very grippy, and it does very well on the dirt trails. |
| 2:25.8 | So what was your thoughts on how it hits the ground? |
| 2:28.9 | Is it a cushion shoe? Do you have a good feel for the ground or where you, what's your experience? My proprioceptive powers were keen. That's good. You know, and I'm going to have to agree with you. It's not a real cushion shoe. It is developed based on the concept of you need to feel the ground. There needs to be some some interaction between your foot and what it's landing on. So I experience the same thing. As far as room in the toe box, that's always something that I like to look at. If I'm going down steep hills and the canyons that we have around here, you can spend quite a bit of time in the front of your shoe. And with the shape of that toe box and the wider foot up front, I found it was pretty comfortable. Any issues? I could actually feel my toes were happy. Happy toes? I mean, because of the way the shoe is shaped, it does allow your foot to spread out in the forefoot. Where most shoes, if you look at them, they kind of taper in like a triangle, like an iron or a funnel. Well, you've had some extreme shoes. A pyramid. You know, you wear your high heels against, yeah. Here's what they say. Why make your foot conform to a shoe when there's a shoe that conforms to your foot? Ooh, yeah. That's a pretty good tagline. That looks like a marketing phrase. But also true, I found that is the case. But I would say if you, this is a brand that I had never heard of. It's not a very popular brand. It's out of Idaho, the US based corporation is based out of Idaho, which is a big ultra running community. And I would say give it a try. If you can find a pair, I think they, they retail for 125, but I bet you your favorite trail running store would have them for a little bit less than that. Go and try them on and then there's a full line of shoes, not just just the one that we were talking about. So many to choose from, and a full woman's line too. So there's five different running shoes and then a couple of hiking boots or high top type shoes. So they have a complete line and all built on the same concept. Yeah. But so Don, I will ask you this question on a scale of one to seven coca-pelleys. Yeah. What would you give us? Seven being the most perfect shoe you've ever worn. Well, remember Scott, as soon as I got out of the car and had what, no more than 20 feet down the trail, I claimed this is my next shoe. Yep. I remember that. And you said how quick you are to adopt? |
| 5:06.9 | Yeah. So I'm going to give it a 6.5 and reserving the seven for the shoe that actually I only have to take one scotch you float, lifts me off the ground and carries me 100 miles. It love it, Tates? Yes, that's the seven. You know, I would agree with you. 6., I am currently wearing this shoe as we speak because I enjoy it just wearing it around. So I would give it also six point five. Go check it out at trexda USA that's TR EK STS T A USA dot com. It's that link is found on our website under this review. |
| 0:00.0 | That's got, you know, we've always talked about are the qualities and the characteristics about this shoe that we think are fantastic. But is there anything negative about this shoe? You could think of it. Well, it's good to be, it's good to come clean. You know, the only thing that I have trouble with with this shoe is the name. I always get tongue tied when I try to say this name. It is track star. Track star. And sometimes I say text draw, and I say track star. I have text. I say it wrong all the time. I say I'm wearing my green ones. It is a pretty color. Yeah, it is. It is a pretty cool. I will say that they are true to fit, so that if you know what your size is, it's pretty close to whatever you're normally using. Treksta. Yeah, Treksta. There's no. TrekstaUSA.com. Treksta. Yeah. Now go out and run. Boss. you you |
