later this week. Dave, some rookie news here. First of all, happy Mother's Day. It's Sunday. Happy Mother's Day to everybody, not to Dave, but to everybody out there. Thank you for not calling me a mother. Others have in the past, but there was a word that came after it. Trey Lance, let's buzz about him, maybe starting sooner than you think, according to USA Today.

Also, maybe the Niners using him kind of as a gadget player like Jalen Hertz.

But who do you want to see a quarterback for the 49ers?

I want to see Tray Lance, man.

I see this guy play in college, and he's got the unique skill set that

could really dominate, not necessarily dominate in the NFL, but dominate for fantasy. He is a big

dude, a fast enough, rangy runner, rugged, tough to take down. And he's got a strong arm too. The question

is whether or not he can match the accuracy with the arm strength and whether or not he can really work this Kyle Shanahan offense. They say that it's not going to take him as long to learn it as maybe at first blush you would have thought. I think that there is a chance here, and I think the 49ers want to get

him on the field. It all comes down to how well he adapts to the offense during the offseason. Remember, it's not going to be like last year where there's no offseason program. The rookies will have a chance to practice and do some stuff and be in touch with their coaches. And then there's going to be hopefully a regular training camp and a regular

preseason and i would imagine by the time we get to late august we'll have a really good idea

if tray lance has a chance and if he does then fantasy managers should certainly be open to the

idea of taking him as a maybe even a top 15 fantasy quarterback maybe even a top 12 if he looks okay in the preseason. And if he doesn't look okay, I get the idea of what they're saying. Remember how Lamar Jackson was kind of weaved into the Ravens offense when he was a rookie for a while? And then he became the start of the same thing with Jalen Hertz last year, just like you said, could absolutely see the 49ers do that where Garoppolo starts. But every here and there, Trey Lance gets the Tassum Hill treatment, and he puts up a little bit of production, and then he eventually takes over, and he's the main guy. He is someone who will be very exciting for fantasy once he's truly in the saddle. Yeah, he ran for 1,100 yards in 2019 in 16 games. He ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns in 2020 in one game.

He looked like a man among boys out there. Yeah. So he's going to be a big time rushing threat.
