When you hear the word entourage, what do you think of?

Velvet ropes, VIP treatment, bottle service, free clothes and sneakers, well, all that

is accurate.

Those things are like not waiting in the line in the club, comp bottles, perks of everything

because the excess you're not going to get.

That is Trayvon Edwards, aka Tray, who, before becoming an NBA analyst here at The Athletic,

was in the entourage of two former NBA players, Marcus Williams and Brandon Jennings.

I remember meeting LeBron for the first time, doing a rare club appearance, first of all,

he's ice in his knees at the club.

But there's more to being in an entourage than just being a plus one.

There's a code.

You have to protect the money.

If they intoxicate it, make sure you get a uber.

If you're in a place and there's an altercation in some situation, you've got to be the

fall guy.

And transitioning out of that life isn't easy.

Returning to reality is difficult.

Think about somebody making you feel good and then taking it away.

And if you gave somebody that power, that's why people kind of crash hard.
