as a documentary, we need to strip it down

to what it really is, a two-year feud

that ended with the mother dead

on the other side of a closed door.

This wasn't a moment of passion.

It was a slow burn.

Two years of complaints, phone calls, racial tension,

and entitlement that finally ignited into violence on June 2nd, 20203.

A mother of four, A.J. Owens, walked up to that door trying to protect her children. On the other side was a woman,

Susan Lawrence, who spent years convincing herself she was under siege in her own neighborhood.

The bullet that tore through that door didn't just kill A.J. Owens. It shattered the illusion of what we

call neighborly. It forced

the country to ask whether our idea of safety has become so warped that fear now outranks humanity.
