And I remember falling backwards and seeing the skyline behind me even the

was tumbling backwards and thinking just how stranger was that that was probably the last thing I was ever going to see.

Our first story is about Quicksand, more of a punchline than a nightmare, really.

We're used to seeing Quicksand on Saturday morning cartoons or

bubbling at the feet of Indiana Jones, but those scenes belie the true danger. No, you can't actually sink over your head in most cases.

People aren't dense enough, but the threat of Quicksand is very real. You don't drown in quicksand you get stuck. So stuck. Cast in concrete

stuck and like any good trap the more struggle, the more involved you become.

What starts off as a caught foot soon becomes a leg, and the more you fight, the hungrier the

sand gets until you've sunk up to your torso in a lonely canyon in Utah with darkness

falling and snow swirling all around.

You can't even help yourself because the amount of force it takes to extract a person from

quicksand is the same as it takes to lift a small car.

So all there is to do is wait at the mercy of night and hope that someone, anyone, arrives in time.

I made a decision to survive.

You're in that survival mode.

The idea of dying wasn't in my head.

I knew immediately it was the worst case scenario.

I was in a fight for my life situation.
