0:55.1	The Oh, Welcome back everyone to one thousand one classic short stories and tales. This is your host John Hagadorn. It's been a while since we've done an O'Henry story and I have a great one for you here today.
0:58.3	Transients in Arcadia. A little background. O'Henry was always a lover of classic literature and while pursuing his many ventures, O'Henry had begun writing as a hobby.
1:09.0	When he lost his banking position, he moved to Houston in 1895 and started writing for the post
1:14.5	earning 25 dollars per month the average salary at that time in American history
1:19.1	was probably about 300 a year well Henry collected ideas for his column by loitering in hotel lobbies and observing and talking
1:27.1	to people there.
1:28.5	He relied on this technique to gain creative inspiration throughout his writing career, which is a fun fact to keep in mind
1:34.4	while reading today's masterpiece of a story, Transgents and Arcadia.
1:40.3	The many twists and turns of his own life, including his travels in Latin America and time spent in prison, clearly inspired his story's twist and wordplay.
