Hello, hello, it's Jamie Scrimger, and this is the kick-ass stepmom podcast. I'm a wife, a mom of one,

a stepmom of three, a coach, a creator, and a conversation opener. At 27 years old, I fell in

love with a single dad with three kids and soon found myself a stepmom. Less than a year later,

we welcomed our baby girl into the family.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you that all of that turned my life upside down.

As a child of divorce and a child protection worker with a background in psychology and social

service work, I thought I knew what I was signing up for when I decided to marry a man with kids.

But I soon found out that I was very much in over my head.

When I went to the internet for tips and strategies on managing and all, I was disappointed with what I found.

Amongst the overwhelming amount of mom blogs and resources on motherhood was very little for step-runs.

The ones that I found focused on conflict and drama and that wasn't what I was about.

So I decided to start the conversation myself.

The Kickass Stepmom podcast is not just about stepmom life though.

It's about way more than that.

Sure, we dive into co-parenting and step parenting and dealing with conflict and what blended family life really looks and feels like.

But we also talk about relationships, marriage, communication, mindset, personal growth, and being the expert on your own life.

Every few weeks my husband even comes on the show and we get his perspective on all the things.

When I first started this platform, I was trying to think

of a name. To start, I thought about what I wanted for this community and what I want for my life.

Within seconds, I said, I want to live a kick-ass life. That's where the name Kick-Astead-Mum

podcast came from. But when I say Kick-Astass stepmom, I don't mean I'm the perfect

stepmom with all the answers. Not even close. I'm over here trying to figure it out too. I screw up,
