They are reportedly open to trading Trey Young before the deadline looks like something is going to happen sooner rather than later.

I'll give my thoughts on that, whether or not the Hawks way too long to get to this point.

And then, of course, we'll get to some fake trades and some potential destinations there for Trey Young.

Then Bobby Manning, who covers the Celtics for CLNS, will join me to talk about this fun and great story out of the Boston Celtics, who are cruising right now and playing really well, playing really good ball. So we'll talk about everything that's going on over there. And then Nick Fredell, who covers the Warriors for the Athletic, is going to join me to talk

about the dramatic, up and down, chaotic, always getting ejected, Golden State Warriors

and what their plans before the trade deadline might be. A bunch to get to. You'll enjoy it.

I've given it a few days since Shams and Mark Stein both reported that the Hawks and

Trey Young are working together to find a trade before the February 5th trade deadline. I've read a bunch of stuff. I've heard a bunch of podcasts. I've got a lot of different takes on this. I've heard a lot of different takes on this. And I wanted to give it a couple of days to really kind of sift through my own thoughts and kind of find where I kind of landed on this. The obvious question here is, are the Hawks right to move on from

Trey Young? And I think clearly the answer is yes. What I find interesting about this question,

though, is that this is sort of one of the ultimate, I hate even doing this, but people who

watch the NBA every day, like me and the people that generally listen to this show,

versus sort of the casual fan that has a different maybe impression of who Trey Young is as a basketball player.

And I hate kind of pinning like NBA nerds and casuals, like nerds, sickos, diehards against the casuals.

I don't like doing that.

It just, it always comes off as pretentious. But, Trayon just isn't the player that he used to be. You could argue even the player that he used to be, wasn't even the player that he used to be, right? Like when you kind of, when you're talking about impressions, you think about that run that the Hawks made to the Eastern Conference finalsals, if Ben Simmons just doesn't melt into a puddle in the round opening the playout in the round before,

the Hawks don't make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

We're not talking about, oh, yeah, Eastern Conference Finals,

could they make it up there again?
