Summary

Of all the longes at Walt Disney World, Trader Sam's Grog Grotto might be the best. Although wait times to get in can often skyrocket during peak lounge times, it's worth stopping by this "tropical hideaway" to enjoy the atmosphere, the Easter eggs, the Cast Member entertainment, and of course the food and beverage selections. In this podcast episode, we'll sip on a few beverages and enjoy the ambiance of Trader Sam's at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. And in order to celebrate, we're going to be journeying together over to Trader Sam's Grasado

over at Disney's Polynesian Village at Walt Disney World.

1:06.1

For those of you who have not had the chance to visit Trader Sam, since it's usually referred to,

1:11.5

it is a lounge that is found over at Disney's Pollination Village. It's a little hard to find,

1:17.5

but that's one of the things that makes it a really exciting place to go and adds to the

1:22.1

experience of Trader Sam's because the overall theme of it is supposed to be that you're

1:26.4

finding this grotto, this sort of

1:28.3

mystical hidden gem in the middle of the Polynesian. And if you think about the history of the

1:37.3

attraction, the enchanted Tiki Room, it was originally supposed to be created as a dining experience

1:43.3

where you would have audio animatronic birds

singing and performing around you as you were dining. Ultimately, that was transformed to what it is

today, the Enchanted Tiki Room, as an attraction, a show over at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park.

So I find that Trader Sam's in many ways pays tribute to the original vision of the enchanted

Tiki Room, where you're able to lounge and enjoy some beverages, adult beverages, as well

as some cuisine that you can purchase as well.

2:15.2

In a lounge setting, it is an intimate lounge.
