Summary

The New York Jets have their quarterback for 2026 and it is a reunion with Geno Smith after the Las Vegas Raiders sent the veteran in a pick swap back to where he was drafted. While it is a fun story, both the Jets and Smith are doomed here. The Raiders were smart to get anything for a player they were going to release and adds to their smart rebuild. Two teams in the NFL really stood out as those who made a big impression early in free agency, but not for the same reason. The Pittsburgh Steelers made really smart moves to bolster their roster while the Arizona Cardinals took the worst path possible for where their franchise is at. The AFC South got more competitive this week as well as the Tennessee Titans made a wave of moves to improve their team and the Houston Texans, while starting slow, rebounded on Day 2 in a big area of need.
