year and it's a time of year of course when everyone is wondering how is 2024 going to play out

We've already got some clues by looking at what's happened already this year in the realms of

mortgages, rents and house prices some very surprising news there to cover.

But Rob, let's start with the big picture, because the big story, of course, over the last couple of years for property,

has been mortgage rates, which are determined by interest rates, which have increased so fast to deal with inflation.

So looking at what's happening with inflation is absolutely critical to understand the path that the market is going to take this year.

And if people haven't been paying close attention they

might have missed the fact that inflation has actually come way way down.

It has come way down but the interesting news story that we've got today from the

Guardian is it could come down

further and dramatically so so inflation dropped at 3.9% in November which is way off

its peak it's certainly heading in the right direction.
